Feed Me!

I was suddenly hungry.

I haven’t been suddenly hungry in over ten months.  It was a full fledged low blood sugar attack.

Light headed, wobbly knees, ravenous appetite.

I stopped gardening and headed for the kitchen.  I actually scarfed food, which wasn’t a good idea.  I knew at the time it wasn’t a good idea, but I couldn’t stop.

After I ate a bit my head cleared and I stopped being wobbly.  The blood sugar had returned to normal.

I see this as an extremely good sign.

It means my body’s natural regulating systems are kicking back online.  My body is saying “enough already with all this weight loss”.

This has happened to me twice over the past week.  I’ve also gained half a pound over the same amount of time.

Slowly but surely things are returning to normal.

How great is that – actually to feel hunger! I hope the new stomach is more accepting now. Just don’t eat too much too fast, huh? Maybe this is the proverbial hump you need get over to return to the real normal? Good news. Thanks for posting!

What SUPER NEWS!!!! What a great feeling that must have been!!! Maybe the herbs or flowers you’re planting helped as they are such wonderful smells!!!

We’re headed to Annapolis to my favorite on the water breakfast place; my once a year treat!!! Group graduation party later today for 4 grads; no wonder my wallet feels lighter!!! I’ll be good and only have one smore……..!

It’s hard to eat slow when you have low blood sugar, but I try. The new stomach is working better. Part of this is because I’m learning how to treat it. I’ve learned to ease into the day food wise. I start with a glass of milk, work up to rice pudding, then ease towards more solid food. It seems to be working.

Pizza works for me. I love a good pizza.

I was planting tomatoes, so I doubt it was because of that. Perhaps the increased physical activity had something to do with it.

Gary, I’m sorry to say I haven’t checked on your progress in a while. We’ve been preoccupied by another friend that isn’t progressing, so it’s heartening to know that you are.
I hope your tomatoes are happier than mine. I’m just trying to figure out why it’s the 12th of June and it’s 42 degrees on the porch. I’m told I don’t have to worry about an 100 degree days this Summer.
Keep up the good work. Maybe we will see you sometime this Summer. DC

I go on the assumption tomatoes are as unpredictable as the Oregon weather. Though a good tomato crop this year seems implausible, you never know. Sorry to hear your friend isn’t progressing. Life is unpredictable, so there’s always the chance things will make a turn for the better.
