Wood Pile.

People keep saying I should post something to this blog, but there really isn’t much to say.  So I’m going to write about my wood pile.

Every year we get a cord of wood which I stack into a neat cube, as you can see to your left.

If you would like to see how I stack it (and I don’t know why you would) you can see my “How to stack a wood pile in a way that it doesn’t fall down.”  Youtube video.

You can see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU_ipcbZUPI

At last count the video has been watched 20,300 times.

“What does stacking wood have to do with recovering from cancer treatment?” you ask.

A lot.

The main thing being that I have enough energy and stamina to do it.  Well, maybe not stamina so much.  It took me a day and a half, with lots of breaks, to get it stacked.

But the point is I got it stacked.

What was nice is it seemed to make the neighbors feel good to see me out there stacking wood.  Several commented on how I must be feeling much better to be taking on such a project.

They are right.

Thanks for another post. Anne says you have attained “near normal.” Chopping and stacking wood would certainly be a good indicator that she is right. Good for you!

I don’t believe that anytime in my entire life have I even come close to being “near normal”. However, I am feeling a lot better. I have much more energy and have been getting a lot done. Eating, though still offering some challenges, is going much better. Things are definitely on an upswing.

I LOVE hearing all the good news Gary!!! Btw, I’ll match my coffee addiction to your Life Savers anytime…..!

I used to have a coffee addiction but seem to be over it. Partly it’s because I have problems drinking liquids and partly because the caffeine has left my system after over a year of not using it. In other words, there are small benefits from stomach cancer treatment. None-the-less, I still don’t recommend it.
